Non-Ferrous Metal Logistics Business Unit
What image comes to your mind when you hear the word logistics? Current logistics providers are required not only to store and transport goods but also to carry out incidental tasks and add value to goods so as to ensure that goods shipped from a warehouse are more valuable than when they entered the warehouse. As customers concentrate their management resources on their core business operations and outsource other duties, the trend towards selection and specialization is likely to accelerate.
A long time has passed since logistics services began to attract attention. Recently the supply-chain management approach has been introduced, resulting in the increased importance of logistics in business management. This business unit performs business operations while always keeping in mind what customers need and what kinds of logistics services will meet those needs.
This business unit handles logistics in domestic distribution, export, and import of heavy goods, such as nonferrous-metal (copper, lead, and zinc) ingots and products, and it provides comprehensive and integrated logistics services for the full range of customer needs, including storage, cargo handling, packaging, customs clearance, shipping, transportation, and delivery, all via a distribution channel from factories to users. We operate a powerful transportation network, using trucks and trailers, from Aomori in the north to Osaka in the southwest, with the Higashi-Ohgishima Logistics Center, located halfway between Tokyo Port and Yokohama Port, as its base, handling about 40,000 tons of cargo a month. This logistics center is equipped with facilities for handling both container freight and conventional-vessel cargoes, and it provides quick and flexible services. We also handle the export, import, and custodial storage of poisonous and deleterious substances.
Thanks in part to the know-how we have accumulated during more than 30 years' experience, we enjoy the fullest confidence of consignors in logistic services for heavy goods made of nonferrous metal ingots.
